Our designers work under close guidance of Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Thailand’s pioneer in eco-products to design exquisite objects with an ideal marriage of form, function and eco-sensibility. A spectrum of ideas are reflected in all the wooden accents of the contemporary art with influences from both the East and West as well as our company’s founder who admires wood for its intrinsic beauty, warmth, texture, strength and versatility.

Our artists’ palette is filled with evocative imagery to refurbish recycled or sustainable wood material, turning them into beautiful home décor. A wide range of wood varieties e.g. Acacia, Teak, Mango, Eucalyptus, Oak, Palm are used. All laminated wood are made using nontoxic, water-soluble glue. These discarded materials are reintroduced as functional and beautiful objects such as benches, tables, stools, screens, mirrors, lamps, wall panels and decorative accessories. Pieces of great ornaments that speak of unreserved respect for wood and exude character that reverberates strongly the belief that nature works best when it is reborn into. Zappaya is the ultimate blend of environment design and culture of Lanna craftsmanship.

MATERIAL

Beautiful to look at and pleasant to touch, wood ages well and represent a perfect combination of color, texture and aroma in an almost spiritual kinship with man that soothes the mind, body and spirit.

Our woods are non-endangered species from an array of sources:

  • sustained plantations where the trees are beyond their best latex/fruit producing years
  • from well-managed forests
  • from old wood (reclaimed/salvaged )
  • from recycled/discarded materials

Old Wood/recycled wood from demolished houses are refurbished into beautiful home décor and furniture. Old wood are treasures whose aged beauty and great character must be preserved in objects built of their wood to provide a record of their heritage and history. Salvaging wood provides a good source of ethically-acceptable timber as it utilizes wood that would otherwise go to waste. Salvaged timbers come from unwanted dead or live trees in urban or farm areas or from reservoir construction. Salvaging is an excellent way to gain access to varieties of wood that are generally unavailable or ethically unacceptable.
